"The fruit on the tree is what the tree wants to give to us. … The desire tree of the Vedas doesn't want to give us all these worldly things. The desire tree of the Vedas wants to give us its very juicy, delicious, sweet fruits."
This is how we usually ask: let there be health, money, let things work out. The Vedas allow for that — they are like a wish-fulfilling tree. You want wealth, there is a ritual; you want a son, there is a ritual; you want a good husband, there is one too. Ask for anything — it is all there. Then he turns the picture around. You can come to the tree and ask for your own thing, but the fruit that has grown on it is what the tree itself wants to give. And the Holy Name is named exactly that: the ripe fruit on the creeper of all the Vedas. So behind all those rituals the tree was holding one fruit for us all along, and it is not money, not a son. It wants to give us its juicy sweet fruit — the Name.
Today take what the tree wants to give: say the Name out loud.
