"Happiness and distress in our life, they come like the seasons: just as spring is followed by summer, summer is followed by autumn, autumn is followed by winter. … A person should be dear, sober and unaffected by the changing weather of their life."
When a hard stretch arrives, it feels permanent. When things go well, the same feeling comes with the opposite sign. Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu turns it into a plain picture: happiness and distress come in turns, like the seasons. Spring is followed by summer, summer by autumn, autumn by winter, and the circle starts again. He says the soul travels through many species of life, and nowhere will you find a place where everything is perfect. Hence his advice — be sober and unaffected by the changing weather of your own life. Krishna makes such evenness a condition: the one whom happiness and distress do not disturb becomes eligible for amrita — the soul attains not a series of dying bodies, but an eternal one.
When a change comes, tell yourself: this is a season, it moves in its circle.
