"Everyone is looking for these things. We think: I want to be happy, I want to be peaceful, I want to love and be loved. So the question comes: who is this "I"?"
Ask anyone what they want and the list is short: happiness, peace, security, and as far as possible, love. Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu says everyone is looking for these things. That's exactly how we put it: I want to love and I want to be loved. And here he stops us with a question: who is this "I" that wants? The question is almost embarrassingly simple — and we hardly ever get to it. The world turned out to be hostile, survival takes everything, and it is rare to get the breathing space to stop and look inward. And if it does come — he thinks a while, reaches no conclusion, and it's back into the fray: pressing business is calling. The mystery stays unsolved. This, the lecture says, is the human condition.
On your rounds today, stay with one question: who in me wants love?
