"Sometimes the worst suffering is the mental suffering. … What will happen next month, next year? Because they have forgotten that Supreme Lord is our best friend … If your best friend is controlling everything, what do you have to worry about?"
Right now everything is fine: there is work, the house is quiet, health holds up. And still the mind keeps circling: what about next month? next year? Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu notes that the worst suffering is usually exactly this — the mental one. What hurts is not what happened, but what has not happened yet. The reason, he says, is one: we have forgotten who holds this month and this year. The Supreme Lord is our best friend, and everything is under His control. Then he asks the question there is no escaping: if your best friend controls everything, what do you have to worry about? And he puts it plainly: any cintā, any anxiety, any stress that enters the mind shows that I have not yet surrendered.
Anxiety came in — recall whose hands hold this month and this year.
