"Please teach me Vedanta. … You're a fool, you cannot understand Vedanta. Just understand this … in this age of Kali there is no other way … only the chanting of the Harinām."
When the young Chaitanya Mahaprabhu met His spiritual master, He asked: "Gurudev, teach me Vedanta" — the summit of philosophy, the hardest thing of all. And the master answered unexpectedly: "You're a fool. You cannot understand Vedanta. Understand just one thing." And he said: in this age, the age of Kali, there is no other way, no other way, no other way — only the chanting of the Holy Name. Three times, to be sure. "But what about—" The Name. "But, but—" The Name. No buts. Notice whom he taught: not some beginner, but the Lord Himself as a devotee. The lesson is plain and kind: to begin, you don't first have to become clever and "worthy." You need one thing — to start calling.
Don't wait until you're "ready." Begin with one thing: just chant.
