"The Holy Name of Krishna is a bīja, a seed. You don't even have to imagine anything — when the name sprouts, you'll just see the form, like you're looking at the deity here."
You don't need to imagine anything during japa — no need to force an image into the mind. The Name itself is the seed, bīja. A whole tree is already hidden inside a seed; you don't glue leaves onto it from outside — they unfold from within. So it is here: plant the Name in the heart through pure chanting, and Krishna's form will appear on its own, as śabda-arcā, the sound-Deity rising on the lotus of the heart. And if the seed doesn't sprout for years, there is one reason: aparādhas.
Don't press the sprout — clear the soil and keep sowing.
