"Without the mercy of the holy name, you can make 10 million times 10 million efforts to remove … but they'll never go away. Since time immemorial, the consciousness is corrupt all the way through."
Bhaktivinoda says it plainly: you can make ten million efforts to remove the anarthas from your heart, and they will not leave. So what is to be done? Niṣkapaṭe yatna kariyānāmeśaraṇa — without any pretense, take shelter of the Name: sit at His feet and weep. Not once, in despair, but for a long time, every day, with ādara — with the deepest reverence. Only the mercy of the Name burns out the root of avidyā, which no effort of yours can reach.
Today don't fight your mind — simply bow at the feet of the Name.
