"All the happiness Krishna tastes in his millions of pastimes cannot equal one drop in the ocean of bliss these manjaris feel, gazing through the lattice window."
When Radha and Krishna are together deep in the kunja, their confidential pastimes are not for every eye. Even Lalita and Vishakha, Chitra and Champaklata must draw back — they are of Radhika's own age, and before them she grows shy; so they go and sit beneath a tree on the far bank of Radha-kunda and hold their own talks there. But the dasis, the maidservants of Radhika headed by Rupa Manjari — they are so fortunate that they may stay. Through the gavaksha, the carved lattice window of the forest pavilion, they gaze without turning away and drink the beauty of these pastimes, and their eyes fill with an ananda no words can tell. For Krishna is Svayam Bhagavan, the Anandamaya: he performs millions of pastimes in millions of universes, with millions of associates. And yet all the happiness Krishna himself tastes, its whole totality, cannot equal one drop in the ocean of bliss of these manjaris at the lattice. Even Krishna does not know such joy.
The Name is your window — chant, and enter where not even the sakhis go.
