"So — aparokṣaṁ bhajatā tirohitam. When I disappeared: aparokṣam, that means indirectly, bhajatā, I was worshipping you indirectly. I could not come back, because I was just appreciating — I was worshipping you."
He hid for the sake of a surprise: let them search, let the love blaze up, and then I will step out. And hidden, He saw what He had not expected: they began to speak with the flowers and the trees, to act out His pastimes one after another, to say words He had never heard before. The bar rose higher and higher — what will they do next? And He could not look away, could not come back: coming back would have ended it. So it happened that He, hidden from them, was all the while worshipping them — from the shadow, beholding the greatness of their prema.
Let today's rounds go on under the gaze already resting on you.
