"Rāmānanda said this verse describing the sakhya-rasa. For the first time Mahāprabhu said: eho uttama — this is topmost. Because śuddha-dāsya, the pure servant's mood, does not exist in Vraja … there is very natural relation with Kṛṣṇa."
Three times in a row Mahāprabhu answers the same way: "this is acceptable, tell me something more." A general answer passes, then He sorts out the kinds of prema, then the verse on the glories of dāsya-rasa — the ladder climbs, and no summit is in sight. Then Rāmānanda recites the verse on the friendship of Vraja, and the answer changes: "eho uttama! This is wonderful, this is topmost!" For the first time in the whole conversation Mahāprabhu hears something that delights Him. Gurudeva explains why: with sakhya-rasa the discussion of Vraja's pure moods begins, and that is why it pleased Mahāprabhu so.
Look whether your service carries kinship and friendship.
