The fifth answer is bhakti free from the effort to know. Rāmānanda offers Brahmā's prayer: those who set aside the attempt to dig knowledge out and simply bow down live on the narrations flowing from the lips of pure sādhus. Gurudeva takes the verse word by word: with the body they sit up straight, hands folded; with words they answer "sādhu, sādhu"; with the mind they think, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. And he adds: no change of outer position is required — stay where you are, but stay where the sādhus are. A closed book lies beside you and your eyes are lowered: the effort of knowing is set down, the hearing is open.
