"Cheto means the citta, the subconscious mind: it is like a mirror, full of impressions that lie on it like dust. When we chant the holy names, the power of this mantra does deep cleaning."
A familiar resolution: from today I will be calmer. You hold it a day or two — then one remark from someone, and a wave rises inside. Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu says simply becoming peaceful is not a long-term solution: the old impressions will rise anyway. The citta, the subconscious mind, is a mirror, and everything you have lived lies on it as dust; through that dust we experience our joys and hurts. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said: ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam — chanting cleanses the mirror of the mind. The power of the mantra goes deep and smooths those impressions away, and we no longer come under the control of turbulent attachments. So He added a second thing: chant continuously, as much as you can.
Chant round after round — and let the name lift the dust layer by layer.
