"The rays, the particles of energy coming from the sun, the individual photons — that is us, the jīvas. And as the rays go out into the darkness of the universe, so we go into the darkness of this world."
Darkness feels like a thing in its own right: it presses on you and seems to have weight. Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu takes an example from Jīva Gosvāmī. The sun exists in four features at once: the sun god within the planet, its surface, the countless rays — photons — streaming outward, and the shadow that falls wherever those rays have not reached. The shadow too is a product of the sun: it is precisely the absence of its light. This world is that shadow. And the photons are us, the jīvas: particles of God's energy gone out into the darkness of the universe. He, His realm, we and this shadow are one undivided reality. Only the intellect chops it into pieces, and then we see random particles colliding in chaos.
Today remember: you are a photon of that same Sun.
