"One who wants to be free from the covering of the material mind should not surrender to the habit of measuring others in material terms. The highest yogi feels another's pain as his own."
You open the feed and swing all day: this one got further, that one is younger and already there, next to a third you feel like nothing. Peace goes not from their news but from hunting all day for your place in the line-up. Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu says one who wants out from under the covering of the material mind should not surrender to the habit of measuring people in material terms. The measure stays — in the Gita Krishna turns it: ātmaupamyena, by yourself. One who measures another by himself sees all equally, in joy and in pain; he never thinks "I am special" or "I am the best," but: I am a soul and everyone is like me. The Gita never says the highest yogi is the one who puts both feet behind his head.
Caught yourself looking for your place in the line-up? Try their day on for yourself.
