"Leave a bowl of fruit for a few days — it turns brown, wrinkled, moldy. So does the body, and everything in the world: all of it is decaying. There's no shelter in any of it."
Set a bowl of fruit on the table and simply wait. In a few days it darkens, wrinkles, and then mold creeps over it. You did nothing — and it spoiled on its own. Śrī Prem Prayojan Prabhu says: look honestly — it's like that with everything, without exception. And this very body we're so proud of slowly darkens and wrinkles, and one day it has to be given to the earth. There isn't a single thing that isn't already in quiet decay — which means there's no reliable shelter either, nothing to hold that won't slip through your fingers. An intelligent person draws one sober conclusion: to invest not in what rots, but in the one thing that stays — love for God.
Ask of every goal: will it stay with me — or rot in the bowl?
