The sinner Ajamila was dying and, in terror, cried out the name of his youngest son: "Narayana!" He was calling the child — not God. But in that same instant four shining, four-armed Vishnudutas the color of a rain cloud descended from the sky, wearing golden crowns, bearing a disc, a mace, a conch, and a lotus — and with a single motion cut the ropes with which the Yamadutas were dragging away his soul. So the Name freed one who didn't even understand what he was uttering.
