"And just in front of You I see a beautiful golden doll, and her gaura-kānti, that is her golden effulgence, is spreading out and covering Your previously śyāma-colored limbs."
Rāmānanda looks at Mahāprabhu and begins to see something extraordinary. First a sannyāsī with golden skin. Then before him a cowherd boy of śyāma complexion. And right in front — a golden doll whose effulgence spreads out and covers the dark body. A flute at the lips, the eyes running everywhere under waves of ecstatic moods, the gaze cast in one direction and another. A camatkāra, an astonished bhāva, awakens in Rāmānanda's heart, and he asks: tell me, Prabhu, without any cheating — what is the cause of what I am seeing?
Ask Him for the truth about what you see.
