Separation is usually measured by distance: near means together, far means apart. For the highest love that measure fails. Separation grows so dense that it becomes a meeting, and the meeting is so keen that within it one already weeps over parting. Gurudeva shows that at the summit the experience does not mirror the position of bodies; it lives by its own depth. From here one sees how far this love stands from what we call feeling: our mood turns on who walked into the room, while here the heart follows its own law.
