They left home, husbands and the night road for His sake, and the first thing they hear is a question: is there some trouble in the village, is that why you came? Then the sermon on a woman's duty: the forest is full of beasts, the night is dark, go back and serve your families. From outside the scene looks like refusal. But every word here carries a double sense: dharma is what sounds aloud, and underneath it waiting. Gurudeva points to the heart of it: He is teasing them and passing the time, because He is waiting for Rādhikā to arrive. The whole scene rests on the one who is not yet in it.
