"They became mad in separation. … They saw that her fire of separation was like a vast conflagration, and their fire of separation was like a firefly in comparison. … Kṛṣṇa had abandoned them all to be alone just with her."
They went mad in separation and began to imitate His pastimes, and then they all came together. And they saw her fire: beside that conflagration their own separation looked like a firefly. There is no envy in such an admission — the gopīs felt sympathy for Rādhikā. And from the footprints in the sand they already knew: He had left them all to be alone with her. So the gopīs of Vraja themselves acknowledged that the love of Vṛṣabhānu Mahārāja's daughter is greater than their own — both in meeting and in separation.
Look at her fire before you call your spark a blaze.
